About allhx.com

In medical terms "hx" stands for "history" and so "allhx" (pronouced "all-x") is about the history of everything. That's the vision for allhx - to be the history of every thing; people, places and things.

allhx is founded on three core principles:

  1. People are the best source of high quality content
  2. High quality content is valuable, and that value should be shared with the creators
  3. There's lots of high-quality content online already and lots that still doesn't exist

People are the
best source of
high quality content

When you get right down to it, people produce the highest quality content. And when we say "people", we mean real individuals who want to record important events like "This is the house where I grew up." or "This is the hostel I stayed in when I backpacked through Europe."

There's nothing profound about this when you see it written down, but you don't often see it written down.

High quality content is valuable, and that value should be shared with the creators

Ever heard of someone getting paid by Facebook for the fantastic content they created? What about LinkedIn or Twitter or Wikipedia? No? Never heard of it? Us neither. All of a sudden, that doesn't sound very "social" does it? So here's where allhx is different - an allhx'er creates content and a percentage of the value it creates(i.e. real money) will be sent back. It's that simple - and we think it's a lot more social as well.

There's lots of high-quality content online already and lots that still doesn't exist

We think there's a huge opportunity to catalog local information - we mean down to individual houses and trees and bus stops and baseball diamonds - and so that's where we've started. Our roots are in Toronto, Canada where average home prices run around $400,000. But very strangely, there's virtually no information online about individual houses - that's a huge opportunity and it's high-value content as well.

There's a bunch of other stuff that we're pretty keen on at allhx, but nothing on the same level as the three principles above. But if you're still reading here's what else we're for:

  1. That we all have a great commitment to each other than we often express. That's why 10% of all allhx Revenue will flow to local charities.
  2. We believe that the iPhone is the greatest field-data-collection tool ever created. It's browser-enabled geo-location service is wonderful.  And we believe that 100,000 people with iPhones is the biggest "field team" ever assembled.
  3. That work should be fun - we can have our cake and eat it too! Create fantastic high-quality content while sharing the wealth it creates with authors and charities. Yes - we - can!
  4. There's 10,000,000,000,000 (that's 10 trillion) high quality data records that need to begin to make the claim that we've captured the history of everything.  Goal number 1 is to catalog 1,000,000 houses worldwide.
